Overview

Our client is looking to appoint a motivated and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor at Project QS to Senior QS level to join their growing team based in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of new build, extension, refurbishment, and fit-out projects throughout Yorkshire and the East Midlands.

The successful candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and capable of managing projects independently while demonstrating strong commercial awareness and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial aspects of construction projects through to final account
• Preparing cost plans, valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Subcontract procurement and management
• Cost reporting and forecasting
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and site teams
• Supporting project delivery to ensure commercial targets are achieved
• Conducting regular site visits (typically once per week)

Project Portfolio

The role will involve working across a range of projects including:

• New build and extension schemes up to approximately £5M
• Fit-out and refurbishment projects up to approximately £2M
• Current freelance/live requirements include:
  • Office fit-out project in the East Midlands
  • School refurbishment project in West Yorkshire

   

Candidate Requirements

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
• Background across both new build and refurbishment projects is essential
• Fit-out experience would be advantageous
• Commercially aware with strong organisational skills
• Driven individual who shows initiative and application
• Ability to manage workloads independently and communicate effectively with project teams and clients

Working Arrangement

• Office based in Leeds
• Site travel required approximately once per week
• No home working / fully office-based role

Package

• £50,000 - £60,000 salary depending on experience
• Permanent opportunity with long-term progression potential
• Freelance candidates will also be considered depending on experience and availability
