Hours: Monday–Friday | 8am–4pm – 37.5 hrs + Regular Overtime

Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and infrastructure solutions is hiring for an Electrical / Reactive Maintenance Electrician to join the on-site engineering team at St Helens Hospital.
Working within a critical healthcare environment, this role will focus on reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding, and maintaining operational continuity across the hospital estate. The successful candidate will be expected to adopt a multi-skilled approach and support wider building services maintenance when required. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer who is open to further development and additional training across mechanical systems such as HVAC, medical gases, and general plant maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver reactive and planned maintenance across electrical building services systems
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on lighting, power, distribution, emergency systems, and associated equipment
- Support wider facilities maintenance duties within the hospital environment
- Assist with HVAC, plant, and mechanical systems where appropriate following training
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and safe systems of work
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed works
- Work closely with the wider engineering team and specialist contractors
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance multi-skilled capability
About You
- Qualified Electrician with NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or Maintenance
- 18th Edition + ECS Card
- Experience within commercial maintenance, FM, healthcare, or critical environments
- Strong fault-finding and reactive maintenance experience
- Willingness to develop mechanical and broader building services knowledge
- Positive, adaptable approach to multi-skilled maintenance
- Comfortable working within a live healthcare environment where safety and compliance are essential
