Salary: £90-£100 per day
Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barnet, Finchley is seeking a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join their outstanding Early Years team from September 2026. This is a full-time temporary role, ideal for a personable and proactive Reception Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting childrens development during these crucial early years.

As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside an experienced class teacher in a Reception class, supporting whole-class learning while providing additional support to a bright and engaging child with Autism. The child is verbal but has a limited vocabulary and often communicates through gestures and body language. This is not a formal 1:1 role, but you will play an important part in helping him access learning whilst supporting the wider class.

Reception Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
• Support teaching and learning across the Reception classroom
• Help deliver engaging EYFS activities and learning experiences
• Provide targeted support for a child with Autism alongside whole-class responsibilities
• Encourage communication, social interaction and independence
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and Early Years team
• Promote positive behaviour and a love of learning

Requirements
• Previous EYFS or Early Years experience is essential
• Experience supporting children with Autism or additional needs is desirable
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to use initiative and adapt to childrens individual needs
• A genuine passion for helping young children thrive
