I'm currently recruiting for a Refrigeration Service Engineer to join a leading facilities and engineering business covering the Slough area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established team working across a variety of commercial environments, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on refrigeration systems.


This role would suit engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy problem-solving under pressure and take pride in delivering a high standard of service. A proactive mindset, strong work ethic and willingness to support the wider team are just as important as technical ability. The Role:


As a Refrigeration Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment, ensuring systems remain operational and compliant while delivering a high standard of service to customers.
Key responsibilities include:


  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance

  • Attending reactive breakdowns and fault-finding activities

  • Diagnosing and repairing refrigeration system faults

  • Working on a range of refrigeration plant and associated equipment

  • Completing service reports and maintenance documentation

  • Identifying remedial works and repair requirements

  • Maintaining health and safety standards at all times

What We're Looking For


Essential:


  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning

  • F-Gas Category 1 Certification

  • Full UK Driving Licence


Desirable:


  • Experience working on commercial refrigeration systems

  • CO2 refrigeration knowledge

  • Hydrocarbon experience

  • Electrical fault-finding skills

  • 18th Edition qualification

  • IPAF certification

  • Takes ownership of their workload and customer relationships

  • Is reliable and responsive when attending breakdowns

  • Has a positive, can-do attitude

  • Wants to maximise their earnings through overtime and additional responsibilities

  • Can work independently while remaining part of a wider engineering team
