Job Description:

As a Reliability and Safety Technician you will be working within the sites multi-discipline Maintenance Team supporting and delivering the maintenance requirements of the manufacturing site, including COMAH requirements where applicable. You will have a proven engineering background and have a working knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems, Automation, Process Control and Safe Systems of Work.

Core Duties:

  • Responsible for managing the CMMS for planned and reactive maintenance activities for the site
  • Coordinate and deliver the site Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) programme to ensure KPIs are achieved, including the management and close out of subsequent actions arising
  • Ensure that all relevant maintenance Safe Systems of Work are maintained correctly and up to date
  • Drive optimal performance from all plant and machinery using continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Lead & facilitate machine reliability improvement projects and coach key site stakeholders in machine reliability improvement tools and techniques
  • Maintain and analyse breakdown data and maintenance KPIs to drive improvement in plant availability and identifying areas for improvement
  • Review critical spares lists generated from RCM’s using a cost and benefit approach, procure and manage the spares thereafter
  • Participate in Energy reduction campaigns as required and support in LOLER activities and BV inspections across site

Essential Skills:

  • You will have a Time Served Apprenticeship (Electrical/Mechanical) via an approved body or organisation
  • You will have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Safe Systems of Work
  • You will understand continuous improvements tools and techniques
  • You will have an understanding of Root Cause Analysis
  • You will have knowledge of RCM and breakdown analysis

The team:

The Maintenance team is approximately 40 strong with a family feel due to its size. It is a new role in the department, and you will be the lead in the development of the Continuous Improvement/reliability element for the team working closely with the maintenance team and other departments to drive improvements and support the safety requirements.
