Renewables Electrician (EV & Solar) — £45,000–£50,000 + benefits

About the role We’re looking for a skilled Renewables Electrician to install, commission, and maintain domestic and light‑commercial solar PV systems and EV charge points. You’ll take projects from survey to handover with a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, test, and commission single- and three-phase EV charge points (domestic and commercial).
  • Install, wire, and commission solar PV systems, inverters, and battery storage.
  • Perform fault-finding, diagnostics, and remedial works on existing installations.
  • Complete electrical certification, handover packs, and as‑built documentation.
  • Conduct site surveys, prepare material take‑offs, and support project planning.
  • Adhere to BS 7671 and relevant DNO/G98/G99 requirements and manufacturer specs.
  • Deliver high standards of workmanship and maintain a tidy, safe site.

About you

  • Fully qualified electrician: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) with current 18th Edition (BS 7671).
  • EV qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2919 or equivalent) with hands-on install experience.
  • Solar PV qualification/experience (e.g., C&G 2399/Solar PV Level 3) and inverter commissioning.
  • Testing & inspection (e.g., C&G 2391/2391-52) strongly preferred.
  • MCS experience advantageous (install or compliance).
  • Full UK driving licence and comfortable working at height.
  • Strong customer communication and neat, methodical workmanship.
