We are seeking a skilled and reliable Repairs and Maintenance Worker to join a supported housing and community-focused organisation in Stoke-on-Trent. This role involves delivering high-quality repairs, maintenance, and property upkeep across multiple residential settings.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring properties are maintained to a safe, clean, and high standard through responsive repairs, planned maintenance support, and general upkeep duties. You will work collaboratively with internal teams and service users within supported housing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• In this job role, you will carry out minor repairs, maintenance, and decoration works across multiple properties
• Assist with furniture deliveries, installations, and property set-ups
• Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to required standards
• Maintain accurate records of all work completed, ensuring compliance with internal systems
• As part of this job role, you will check and account for tools, equipment, and materials to maintain security
• Report hazards, defects, and near misses in line with health and safety procedures
• Support ordering and use of materials in line with maintenance schedules
• Work alongside staff, clients, and volunteers within development programmes
• Complete timesheets, expenses, and health & safety documentation accurately
• Support the ongoing improvement of property standards across the portfolio
• Attend team meetings, supervision, and training sessions as required
• Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures
• Undertake additional duties as required by the management team

About You

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in housing maintenance or reactive repairs
• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade discipline
• Blue CSCS card (Level 2 or above)
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace
• Experience working in social housing or supported housing environments
• Ability to diagnose, prioritise, and complete repair work to a high standard
• Competent in completing documentation and basic IT tasks (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Full UK driving license and access to own transport is essential – you will be given access to the organisations own van(s).
