Position: Residential Children's Support Worker / Residential Childcare Worker

Contract Type: Flexible / Shift-based (Full-time eligibility required)

Are you an experienced, empathetic childcare professional looking to make a genuine impact on young lives? We are currently seeking dedicated Residential Children's Support Workers to join our teams across various residential children's homes in the Cumbria and North East locality.

In this role, you will provide vital care and stability for children with emotional, behavioral, and trauma-related needs, helping them build brighter futures in a safe, supportive environment.



Competitive Pay & Shift Patterns

We offer flexible, structured shift options to suit your lifestyle, paired with highly competitive rates:

  • Day Shifts (08:00 - 20:00): £15.35 per hour

  • Waking Nights (20:00 - 08:00): £16.88 per hour

  • Days with Sleeps: 10:00 - 23:00 (with sleep-in) followed by 08:00 - 10:00 | £63.04 flat rate for the sleep-in.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centered care within varied residential children's homes.

  • Support children and young people dealing with emotional, behavioral, and complex trauma-related needs.

  • Manage challenging behaviors with patience, de-escalation techniques, and professional boundaries.

  • Create a safe, warm, and nurturing environment that fosters personal development and well-being.



What We Are Looking For (Essential Criteria)

To be considered for new registration, candidates must meet the following:

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience working specifically within Residential Children's Homes and supporting children who have experienced trauma.

  • Flexibility: Willing and able to travel up to 1 hour to various homes across the locality.

  • Availability: Open to working a mix of both day and night shifts.

  • Right to Work: Valid Right to Work (ETW) in the UK for full-time hours (we cannot accept applicants with 20-hour student visa restrictions).

  • Transport: A car driver is highly preferred/ideal, though not strictly essential.
