Children’s Support Worker (Residential Children’s Home) - Near Aberdare, CF44

Vetro Recruitment is seeking Children’s Support Workers for a residential children’s home near Aberdare, CF44. This temporary role offers the chance to support young people with care, structure and emotional wellbeing, working as part of a consistent staff team.

Location Near Aberdare, CF44

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people with day-to-day routines, activities and hobbies
  • Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes
  • Provide emotional and practical support within the home
  • Keep young people safe by following care plans, risk assessments and relevant guidance
  • Support young people with behaviours that may be challenging, helping to reduce incidents
  • Assist with evenings, weekends, activities and occasional trips (where required)
  • Support 2:1 care where required to meet individual needs

About the Residential Setting

  • Registered for up to 4 young people
  • 6 bedrooms total, including 2 staff rooms (one en-suite)
  • 1 bathroom and 1 shower room for young people
  • Comfortable communal spaces including a lounge and kitchen/diner, plus extensive grounds

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months' experience supporting children and young people, or in a similar social care setting
  • UK driving licence (driver required)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Restraint training (TMVA, PMVA or similar) or willingness to complete a 3-day course

Shift Details and Pay

  • Temporary / agency shifts
  • Shifts: 08:00-22:00 or 13:00-22:00 (opportunities around Aberdare, CF44)
  • Pay rate: £14.24 to £28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
