The Role
As a Residential Support Worker Waking Nights, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, Autism, ADHD & co-occurring health needs during the night.
You’ll help ensure the home remains safe, calm, and well-managed throughout the night.
You will help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where young people can thrive emotionally, socially, and developmentally, ensuring that they thrive in all aspects of their lives with your support. Full training is provided, along with a clear and personalised career pathway.
Key Responsibilities
- Remain awake and alert for the full duration of the shift
- Commitment & Dedication to the young people and your role
- Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance and organisational policies
- Recognise and report concerns relating to safeguarding, wellbeing, or risk
- Build positive, professional relationships with young people
- Follow and review individual care plans to meet changing needs
- Support daily routines, including meals, household tasks, and maintaining a safe home
- Encourage independence and involve young people in decisions about their lives
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture
What We're Looking For

- Willingness to learn and develop within the role
Experience and Qualifications:
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (desirable but not essential)
- All required qualifications are fully funded and must be achieved within 2 years
- Previous experience with learning disabilities is welcome but not required
- A driving licence is strongly preferred but not essential
- Subject to an enhanced DBS check
