Children’s Residential Support Worker

We are currently recruiting for dedicated and compassionate Residential Child Support Workers to join our team in Basildon. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people and make a meaningful impact on their lives.

Role Overview

You will be working within a residential care setting, supporting young people aged 14–17 with behavioural and emotional needs. The role involves working on a 2:1 ratio, building positive and trusting relationships and helping young people develop life skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

Shift Pattern

  • Must be flexible to do day and nights as the shifts vary
  • Day shifts: 8:00am – 8:00pm
  • Night shifts: 8:00pm – 8:00am
  • 3–4 shifts per week required

  • Work as part of a supportive care team

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in one of the following:
    • Residential care
    • Schools
    • Youth work
    • Family support
  • Strong understanding of supporting young people with complex needs and behaviours
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to work long shifts (12 hours)
  • Minimum age: 22 years old
