Roadside Assistant

 About the Role:

As a Roadside Recovery Mechanic, you’ll attend vehicle breakdowns across the Bradford area, carrying out effective on-site repairs to ensure buses can safely return to the depot. This is a key role within the engineering team, helping to keep services running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend roadside breakdowns and carry out repairs or temporary fixes
• Diagnose faults using appropriate tools and techniques
• Drive a company vehicle to breakdown locations
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Accurately complete breakdown reports and documentation
• Collect parts from stores when required
• Support the engineering team with additional duties as needed

About You:

• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Basic mechanical knowledge or qualifications (e.g. SVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
• Familiarity with diagnostics and repair techniques (desirable)
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills
• PCV licence is advantageous, but training will be provided

Working Hours:  38 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern:

• Early: 6:00am – 2:00pm
• Late: 12:00pm – 10:00pm
  Typically 4–5 days per week
