At St Mary's hospital there is a strong emphasis on teamwork, as you work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support people Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), progressive neurological conditions.

As a Safeguarding Coordinator you will be:

  • Point of contact for support and advise within the hospital.
  • Review incidents and concerns
  • Gather further information.
  • Review care and treatment plans
  • Ensure interim measures in place to prevent further harm/risk.
  • Ensures correct processes and policies are adhered to.
  • Arrange and chair a weekly Safeguarding forum
  • Share minutes/information of the forum with the Senior Management Team
  • Ensure actions are followed up in a timely manner.
  • Update documentation on safeguarding/care concern discussions
  • Keep the patient up to date with processes.
  • Attend monthly Safeguarding Meeting
  • Oversee the entire process of Safeguarding investigations and Provider Led Concerns

Where you will be working 

Location: St Mary’s Hospital, Floyd Drive, Warrington, Cheshire, WA2 8DB 

St Mary’s Hospital provides care and support for men aged 18 years and over who require a period of specialised Level 2 mental health rehabilitation inpatient services (higher support needs) in a safe and caring environment. The hospital also offers a range of specialised services for people with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), including Level 2 ABI rehabilitation, Low Secure ABI and Medium Secure ABI services, delivered within a structured rehabilitation setting. 

There is also an acute service which specialises in the assessment, treatment and stabilisation of individuals in crisis or suffering from significant mental health problems. 

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Previous experience within a similar role and/or environment.
  • Good IT/computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Plan and prioritise workload
