Sales Estimator – Precision Engineering

Mazco Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading aerospace precision engineering manufacturer in the search for an experienced Sales Estimator. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected subcontract machining business that supplies complex components to some of the world's biggest aerospace and defence organisations.

Working in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment, you will play a pivotal role in managing customer enquiries, preparing accurate quotations, and ensuring a seamless transition from sales through to production.

The Role

As Sales Estimator, you will be the first point of contact for customer enquiries and will support the Commercial Manager in delivering outstanding service and commercial excellence. You will manage RFQs and RFPs ranging from small batch work through to large manufacturing programmes involving multiple complex components.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing detailed estimates and quotations for aerospace machining projects.
  • Managing and following up customer RFQs and tenders.
  • Conducting contract reviews to ensure customer and technical requirements are met.
  • Processing sales orders and creating BOMs, work orders and planning documentation.
  • Liaising with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to monitor project progress and resolve any technical or quality issues.
  • Raising purchase orders for raw materials and subcontract services.
  • Managing customer relationships and providing regular updates throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Supporting reporting activities by gathering data and producing commercial metrics.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience within the aerospace or precision engineering sector and a strong understanding of CNC machining and subcontract manufacturing.

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a Sales Estimator, Commercial, or Customer Account role within aerospace or precision engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience preparing technical quotations and managing customer RFQs.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production control environments.
  • Understanding of aerospace quality standards and contract requirements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or 5S methodologies.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly and aerospace approvals.
