An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Manager to join a well-established, independent engineering company with additional fabrication capabilities.
Our client is seeking a driven and commercially focused individual to play a key role in expanding their customer base and developing new business opportunities across targeted industry sectors.
This position would suit a proactive sales professional who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering growth within a technical engineering environment. A strong understanding of machining and fabrication processes is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage relationships with both existing and prospective clients across the UK market
- Conduct regular sales visits and customer meetings to identify new business opportunities
- Negotiate and secure new contracts while maintaining awareness of market trends and conditions
- Produce weekly sales activity reports, along with monthly and quarterly order forecasts
- Maintain accurate customer and pipeline data within CRM systems
- Identify high-value opportunities within the existing client base to maximise profitability and retention
- Support the development of long-term customer partnerships through regular engagement and review meetings
- Research and target new markets, sectors, and clients to drive business growth
- Attend industry events, exhibitions, and conferences, providing market insight and feedback
- Contribute to marketing strategies and assist with pricing and costings for services and components
- Proven experience in a similar sales or business development role within engineering or manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of machining and fabrication processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Commercially aware with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated, with a results-driven mindset
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
- Engineering background is essential
