Pay: £13-17 depending on experience
Hours: Full Time, Term Time Only (40 hours per week, 8:30am – 4:30pm)
Purpose of the Role The School Administrator plays a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school. This position provides administrative, organisational, and operational support to staff, pupils, and parents, helping to maintain an efficient and welcoming school environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support across the school, including managing emails, filing, and maintaining accurate records.
- Support finance administration tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling data, and maintaining documentation.
- Assist with maintaining health and safety records and ensuring compliance documentation is up to date.
- Support school operations through effective use of spreadsheets, databases, and school systems.
- Maintain and update pupil data using the school’s MIS system, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Assist with attendance monitoring, reporting, data entry, and maintaining pupil records where required.
- Act as a first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies, providing a professional and welcoming reception service.
- Support communication with parents and staff through phone, email, and written correspondence.
- Provide administrative support to leadership and teaching staff as required.
- Assist with the coordination of school events, meetings, and daily operational tasks.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Professional, approachable, and confident communicating with a wide range of people.
- Positive, flexible, and able to work well within a busy school environment.
- Calm under pressure with strong attention to detail.
- Have previous administrative experience, ideally within a school or education setting.
- Have experience using school MIS systems such as SIMS or Arbor.
- Possess strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Be able to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding within a school environment.
- Be committed to supporting the wellbeing and success of pupils and staff.
