About the Role

Complete Classroom Services are seeking an experienced and dedicated School Chef to oversee the preparation and delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals within our educational setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent culinary skills, strong organisational abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual who is passionate about providing healthy meals that support students' wellbeing and learning.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning, preparing, and cooking nutritious meals in line with school menus and dietary requirements
  • Ensuring all food is prepared and served to a high standard of quality and presentation
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness within the kitchen
  • Managing food stock, ordering supplies, and monitoring budgets effectively
  • Supervising and supporting kitchen staff where applicable
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and school policies
  • Catering for special dietary needs, allergies, and cultural requirements
  • Maintaining accurate records relating to food safety, temperature checks, and stock control
  • Supporting school events and functions by providing catering services when required
  • Ensuring kitchen equipment is used safely and reporting any maintenance requirements promptly

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience as a chef, cook, or catering professional, ideally within a school or educational setting
  • A recognised Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above)
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and allergen management
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High standards of professionalism and personal integrity
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Flexibility, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
