Our client, a well-established and growing print and garment decoration company based in Blackpool is currently seeking a Screen Print Transfer Operator & Graphic Design Assistant to join its busy team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a combination of hands-on production work and creative graphic design and is looking to build a long-term career within the print industry. Full training will be provided, making this role suitable for both experienced candidates and those looking to develop new skills.

The successful candidate will split their time between the production floor and the artwork department. A key part of the role will involve operating and supporting Screen Print Transfer machinery while also assisting with artwork preparation and graphic design tasks.

This position would suit an individual who is technically minded, organised, creative, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Screen Print Transfer Production:

  • Operate and monitor Screen Print Transfer machinery.
  • Prepare jobs and materials for production.
  • Ensure all products meet company quality standards.
  • Follow production schedules and meet daily targets.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping duties.
  • Assist with stock control and materials management.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.

Graphic Design & Artwork Support:

  • Prepare customer artwork for print production.
  • Create, amend and optimise artwork files.
  • Produce customer proofs and visual mock-ups.
  • Check artwork specifications for print suitability.
  • Assist with colour matching and artwork adjustments.
  • Maintain digital artwork files and archives.
  • Support the Artwork Department with day-to-day design requirements.

Candidate Profile:

Essential:

  • Good IT and computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Reliable, punctual and motivated.

Desirable:

  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW or similar design software.
  • Previous experience within screen printing, transfer printing, garment decoration or print production.
  • Knowledge of artwork preparation and print processes.
  • Experience operating machinery within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within the printing industry would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

In return the company offers full training and ongoing support, Monday to Friday working hours (8:00am–4:30pm) with no weekend working.
