Secondary SEN Teacher - Southwark - September 2026

A very supportive and Ofsted-rated Outstanding SEN school in Southwark is looking for a dedicated Secondary SEN Teacher to work with students across Key Stage 3 and 4.

Job Role:

  • 4 days per week
  • Monday to Thursday
  • QTS & previous SEN experience needed
  • Not suitable for ECTs
  • Primarily dealing with KS4 pupils but may be a few KS3 lessons depending on the timetable
  • Responsible for own planning
  • Subjects to cover - ASDAN KS4 accreditation, Humanities pathways. Preparing for Adulthood, small amount of RE
  • Must have English as mother tongue or be otherwise completely fluent as many of our pupils have speech and communication needs
  • Will be covering various classes and groups mostly across KS4, pupils have a range of SEN including autism
  • Will not have form tutor responsibilities

The School

This very supportive SEN school provides education for students aged 5-16 with ASD and MLD. The school follows a highly adapted curriculum, combining academic learning with life skills, sensory integration and communication development approaches to help every student achieve their full potential. Staff work closely together with therapists and external professionals to provide strong support for both students and teachers.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience or strong understanding of supporting students with ASD and MLD
  • Secondary school teaching experience preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
