A day in the life of a Murphy Security Advisor
- Security Risk Management - Support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of security risks across projects, ensuring alignment with company standards, the Business Management System (BMS), and contractual requirements.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting - Assist with and lead investigations into security incidents, breaches, and near-misses. Produce clear, accurate reports with root cause analysis and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Operational Security Advice - Provide specialist advice on operational and physical security measures, including access control, perimeter security, asset protection, and site security procedures.
- Site Inspections & Audits - Carry out regular site inspections and security audits to assess compliance with project security plans, regulatory frameworks, and agreed controls. Support the tracking and close-out of corrective actions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration Work - collaboratively with Project Site Management, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to promote consistent security standards and effective security delivery across all sites.
- Assurance & Compliance - Provide assurance that security activities support the company’s Never Harm objectives, protect confidential and sensitive information, and comply with internal and external requirements.

- Well-organised, with the ability to manage multiple site priorities
- Experience in a security advisory, site security, or risk management role, ideally within construction, infrastructure, or large project environments
- Familiarity with corporate standards, management systems (BMS or equivalent), and governance frameworks
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including subcontractors and joint ventures
