SEMH Primary Teacher (QTS)

Prospero Teaching is recruiting two dedicated and resilient Primary Teachers (QTS) to work in a specialist school setting in the Salisbury area. The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing a structured, nurturing environment designed to help students re‑engage with education.

You will take responsibility for delivering a primary curriculum adapted to meet individual needs, focusing on building positive relationships, emotional regulation, and academic progress. This role requires a calm, consistent, and highly supportive approach, with an emphasis on behaviour management and student wellbeing.

The Role:

  • Deliver a primary curriculum tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students
  • Create a safe, structured, and consistent classroom environment
  • Work closely with support staff and pastoral teams
  • Track and assess progress in both academic and personal development
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently


Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with SEMH, behaviour needs, or additional needs
  • Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Confident working in a structured, specialist environment
  • Committed to supporting both academic and emotional development
  • Suitable for experienced teachers or confident ECTs


Contract Details:

  • Position: SEMH Primary Teacher (QTS)
  • Location: Salisbury
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Working Pattern: Full‑time
  • Pay Rate: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
  • Key Stage: Primary
  • Vacancies: 2


Experience, Training & Safeguarding:

  • QTS required
  • SEMH or specialist‑setting experience beneficial
  • Safeguarding training can be provided
