Location: Liverpool (onsite)
Salary: £28,000 – £33,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are currently working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Liverpool who are looking to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with practice experience to further develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.

The role will involve working with a varied portfolio of SME clients, owner-managed businesses, and limited companies, providing a full range of accounting and tax services.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
• Production of management accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns in line with HMRC regulations
• Assisting with corporation tax computations and personal tax returns
• Bookkeeping duties using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
• Liaising with clients to gather financial information and provide support and advice
• Supporting senior accountants and managers with client portfolios
• Ensuring compliance with HMRC and Companies House requirements
• Assisting with audits where required

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 or 3 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
• AAT qualified or studying ACCA/ACA (part-qualified candidates welcome)
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, and tax compliance
• Experience with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage
• Good understanding of bookkeeping, double-entry, and reconciliations
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure
