About the Role

We’re representing a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Liverpool, recognised for providing high-quality accounting, advisory, and business support services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practice professional to gain exposure to varied client work, develop technical expertise, and progress within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of accounts for Limited Companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Prepare management accounts, VAT returns, and bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio
  • Support the delivery of accounts preparation services for owner-managed businesses
  • Liaise directly with clients, responding to day-to-day queries and providing support
  • Work with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and similar systems
  • Ensure compliance deadlines are met and work is completed accurately and efficiently
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the wider team and support ongoing process improvements

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • AAT Level 3 qualified or above
  • ACA / ACCA part-qualified, fully qualified, or qualified by experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Office
  • Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, organised, and client-focused with strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other office locations where required
