SEN Teaching Assistants Required – Greenbank School, Northwich
Teach Ltd is seeking caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils within a specialist educational setting in Northwich.
This opportunity would suit individuals with experience supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated learning needs. The role involves working closely with teaching staff and specialist professionals to help pupils access learning, develop independence and achieve positive outcomes.
Greenbank School provides specialist support for pupils with autism and additional needs, creating a structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
- Supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated communication needs
- Assisting with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Promoting engagement, independence and confidence within the classroom
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and wider support teams
- Supporting learning activities across the curriculum
- Maintaining accurate records where required
The Ideal Candidate
Applicants should:
- Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
- Have experience working with pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or related needs
- Demonstrate patience, empathy and a positive attitude
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Have a flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, health and social care or SEND support are desirable but not essential.
