SEN TEACHER — SEVERE & COMPLEX LEARNING NEEDS
Location: Uxbridge, UB8 (Outer London) Salary: £37,870 – £56,154 (MPS1–UPS3 Outer London) plus SEN Allowance £2,787 – £5,497. Realistic ceiling around £61,651 for an experienced candidate.
Contract: Permanent, full-time, term time Start: September 2026 (earlier start considered for the right candidate)
THE ROLE
An exceptional permanent opportunity has arisen for a SEN Teacher to join an established all-age special school in Uxbridge supporting pupils aged 7 to 19 with severe and complex learning needs.
The cohort includes pupils with SLD, PMLD, autism, sensory processing differences and complex communication needs. The school offers day, residential and short-break provision and is run by a religious order with a strong Christian ethos.
This is a class teacher role within a well-resourced, structured environment where Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Thrive are embedded across the whole school. You will lead a class with TA support, deliver a highly differentiated curriculum aligned to individual EHCP outcomes, contribute to Annual Reviews, and work closely with a strong multi-disciplinary team including Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Educational Psychology.
ABOUT YOU
- PGCE (or equivalent) and UK QTS
- Hands-on experience teaching pupils with severe and complex learning needs in a specialist setting
- Concrete experience of behaviour support strategies within a complex SEN environment
- Familiarity with EHCP processes and statutory documentation
- Specialist tools such as Team Teach, PBS, Makaton, PECS and sensory regulation strategies (desirable — training available for the right candidate)
- Commitment to inclusive practice and the school's Christian ethos (staff of any faith or none are welcomed; all staff are asked to uphold the school's values)
