Smart Education is recruiting an SEN Teacher to support pupils aged 3–19 with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in Wolverhampton.

 About the Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver personalised learning experiences focused on sensory development, communication, and life skills. The successful SEN Teacher will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support pupils with complex educational and care needs.

 Job Responsibilities of an SEN Teacher

  • Deliver tailored lessons for pupils with PMLD and SLD

  • Support sensory development, communication, and life skills

  • Use communication methods such as PECS and Makaton

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with support staff and external professionals

 Requirements for an SEN Teacher

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working with PMLD and SLD pupils

  • Knowledge of sensory-based teaching approaches

  • Experience using PECS, Makaton, or similar communication methods

  • A calm, patient, and creative teaching approach
