SEN Teaching Assistant – Towcester NN12 – KS1 – 1:1 Autism Support – Full Time – September Start

APT Education is recruiting a caring, patient and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil with Autism on a 1:1 basis in a welcoming Primary school in Towcester (NN12). This is a full‑time role starting in September, offering stability, strong support and highly competitive pay.

The pupil can present with challenging behaviour at times, so we’re looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant who is calm, confident and able to provide structure, reassurance and emotional regulation throughout the school day.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Towcester NN12, you will:

  • Provide full‑time 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with Autism
  • Use visuals, routines and clear communication strategies
  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Build trust, consistency and confidence with the pupil
  • Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment

Requirements

  • Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with Autism
  • Confidence supporting challenging behaviour
  • A patient, nurturing and consistent approach
  • UK school experience preferred
  • Valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
