SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT – BIRMINGHAM
We are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a real difference in their education.
ROLE DETAILS
- Location: Birmingham
- Hours: Full-time (part-time considered)
- Start: ASAP
- Contract: Ongoing / Temporary with potential for extension
- Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and adapting learning materials
- Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, inclusive environment
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and communication needs
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and wider school staff
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
