About the Role

We are looking for compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team in Meldreth, North Royston. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by providing high-quality care and support to children and young people both in residential care homes and in the community.

You will play a key role in their daily lives, supporting personal care needs, day-to-day activities, and helping them develop life skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be crucial in supporting students with their learning, development and progress in all areas of the curriculum within a range of learning contexts including the classroom, the local environment and within the community
  • Help young people with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions and autism to achieve their educational and personal goals
  • Support an environment that fosters equality, diversity and the rights of all young people to be seen as learners and be treated with respect
  • Place an emphasis on support and empowerment of young people
  • Develop a greater understanding of Special Education issues; the values of Aurora and demonstrate these in all aspects of the role
  • Provide high quality support in all aspects of the role
  • The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines

What We’re Looking For

  • Compassion, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to individuals’ needs (including non-verbal communication).

  • Team player who is reliable, adaptable, and resilient.

  • No formal qualifications required – full training will be provided.

  • Experience in care or support work is desirable but not essential.

  • Must be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
