SEN Teaching Assistant

The Education Specialists are currently seeking a resilient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students within a PRU-style setting in Manchester. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting ASAP, ideal for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on young people facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
- Support the delivery of tailored learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to support individual learning plans
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with young people, ideally in a PRU, SEMH, or alternative provision setting
- Be confident managing challenging behaviour and de-escalating situations
- Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners
- Be adaptable and proactive in a dynamic environment
- Hold a valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one)
Desirable (but not essential):
- Team Teach training or similar behaviour management certification
