A specialist primary school in Harrow is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This full-time, temporary-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for a candidate with experience working within education or specialist settings who is looking to develop their career in a rewarding environment.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Harrow, you will work with pupils aged 3-11 who have a range of learning difficulties, autism, physical disabilities and additional needs. You will assist teaching staff in delivering learning activities and help pupils access the curriculum throughout the school day.

• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver learning activities.
• Provide classroom assistance to pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis.
• Help pupils engage with lessons and classroom routines.
• Assist with communication and social development programmes.
• Contribute to the preparation of learning resources and classroom displays.
• Monitor pupil engagement and report progress to teaching staff.
• Follow behaviour management strategies and education plans.
• Promote a safe and positive learning environment.
• Assist with personal care where required.

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
• Experience working with pupils with autism, complex needs or learning difficulties is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive approach.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and current educational practices.
