SEN Teaching Assistant - Barking & Dagenham - September Start - Full Time - £100-£117 per day

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school based in Barking & Dagenham for a September start.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and make progress within a structured school environment.

The school is looking for a caring, reliable, and resilient candidate who can support pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning difficulties.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting students with SEN across classroom activities
  • Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Helping pupils stay engaged and focused during lessons
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
  • Supporting pupils during transitions, break times, and school routines
  • Helping to create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous SEN, school, care, youth work, or childcare experience
  • Be patient, calm, and resilient
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Be confident supporting behaviour and additional needs
  • Be reliable, proactive, and able to use their own initiative
  • Be passionate about helping vulnerable pupils succeed
