We are seeking a caring and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Telford. This is a full time role starting in May 2026 and continuing until July 2026, with the potential to become a permanent position for the successful candidate.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them engage with learning and develop positive behaviours within a supportive educational setting.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is previous experience working in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide one to one and small group support for pupils with special educational and behavioural needs
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, confidence, and emotional regulation
- Adapt classroom activities and learning materials to meet the needs of individual pupils
- Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure consistent pupil support
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and committed to making a positive impact within an alternative provision setting.
- Graduates and final year university students from any subject background are encouraged to apply
- Previous SEN or behaviour support experience is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided
- Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
