A vibrant and welcoming primary school in Haringey is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Upper Key Stage 2.

This is a rewarding opportunity to join a warm and supportive school community that prides itself on creating an engaging and immersive learning environment for children aged 7–11.

The role will involve supporting Year 5 and Year 6 classes, with a particular focus on building positive relationships and providing tailored support for pupils with additional needs.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide whole-class support across Year 5 and Year 6
• Support pupils with ASD, social and emotional needs, and behavioural challenges
• Help pupils access learning through scaffolding, learning breaks and targeted interventions
• Build strong and trusting relationships with key pupils
• Support pupils with transition preparation moving into Year 7
• Assist with creative activities including the Year 6 production, music, drama and prop-making

The school is looking for someone calm, patient and nurturing, who can create a positive and supportive environment for pupils to thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Ideal Candidate Will:


• Have experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD and SEMH needs
• Be calm, resilient and able to build strong relationships over time
• Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Be proactive, adaptable and supportive within the classroom
• Have a genuine passion for supporting childrens development and wellbeing
