SEN Teaching Assistant (Reception) – 1:1 Support

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a childs early education journey?

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Rainham is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Reception-aged pupil with additional needs. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to play a vital part in a childs development during their crucial early years.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in Reception.
• Support learning, communication, social interaction and emotional regulation throughout the school day.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to implement personalised strategies and interventions.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning activities.
• Monitor progress and contribute to the childs ongoing development.
• Assist with personal care where required.

About You

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with SEN, including autism, speech and language needs, or social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Previous experience in an EYFS, Reception or primary school setting.
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to remain positive, flexible and resilient.
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable), or substantial experience supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis within a primary school.

Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.
