We are recruiting a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Croydon, working with pupils who have a range of special educational needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs in a structured and nurturing environment.
About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
- Support pupils with needs such as ASD, SLD, PMLD, and SEMH
- Assist with classroom activities, adapting learning to individual needs
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
- Support communication using visual aids, PECS, Makaton, or AAC where appropriate
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet EHCP targets
- Support with personal care where required
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school or care setting)
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to support personal care and behaviour needs if required
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
