About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in a supportive school environment in Blackpool, starting this September.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a meaningful impact on their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, both in and out of the classroom
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies
- Assist with adapting learning materials to meet individual needs
- Promote engagement, independence, and confidence in the pupil
- Support emotional and behavioural development where required
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff
Requirements
- Essential: Previous experience working with children with SEN
- Understanding of various needs such as ASD, ADHD, or additional learning needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., TA qualification) are desirable but not essential
