Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, or looking to develop your career supporting children with additional needs?

Connex Education is working in partnership with schools across Bath & North East Somerset (BANES) within the Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust (BWMAT) and is recruiting dedicated Primary SEN Teaching Assistants for flexible day-to-day supply and short-term roles starting in September 2026.

These opportunities are ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference to children's lives and enjoy working in a variety of school environments while maintaining flexibility around their work commitments.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the primary age range
  • Working one-to-one and with small groups
  • Assisting teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences
  • Supporting pupils with communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs
  • Flexible day-to-day and short-term assignments across BWMAT schools
  • Roles commencing from September 2026

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEN setting
  • A patient, nurturing and positive approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to adapt to different school environments and pupil needs
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning, wellbeing and development
