We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable tutor to provide 1:1 support in Maths and English Functional Skills for a Year 10 student. This role is based within a children’s home in Southport and requires someone who can build a positive, consistent relationship while delivering engaging, tailored sessions.
This is a long-term tutoring opportunity with no current end date, offering stability and the chance to make a meaningful impact on a young person’s educational journey.
SEN Tutor key responsibilities:
- Deliver personalised Maths and English Functional Skills sessions
- Plan and adapt lessons to meet the student’s individual needs and learning style
- Foster engagement, confidence, and progress in both subject areas
- Provide regular feedback on progress
Requirements of an SEN Tutor:
- Experience tutoring or teaching Maths and English (Functional Skills or GCSE level)
- Ability to engage and motivate students in a 1:1 setting
- Patience, reliability, and strong communication skills
- Experience working with young people in alternative provisions or care settings is essential for this role
Schedule:
- 6 hours per week, delivered across 3 days
- Flexible scheduling to suit tutor and student availability
We also have multiple tutoring roles available across primary and secondary levels, covering a range of subjects. These include opportunities to work with both mainstream learners and students with special educational needs (SEN).
