We’re looking for experienced SEN Tutors to support young people across Havering who require personalised learning outside of, or alongside, mainstream education.
This is flexible, meaningful work where you can positively impact both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
Key details
- Location: Havering
- Role: SEN Tutor/Mentor
- Hours: From 2 hours per week up to full-time opportunities
- Pay: £25–£35 per hour
- Contract: Ongoing and flexible
The role
You’ll support students with a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism (ASD)
- ADHD
- SEMH
- Communication and learning needs
Sessions may take place in homes, schools, libraries, or community settings.
We’re looking for tutors who can:
- Build trust and positive relationships quickly
- Create calm, engaging learning environments
- Support confidence, emotional regulation, and learning engagement
- Deliver personalised sessions based on individual needs
- Track progress and provide short monthly updates
Requirements
- UK-recognised teaching qualification preferred
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Sessions are arranged around your availability, offering genuine flexibility alongside rewarding work.
