SEND Teacher - Specialist Provision within a Mainstream Primary School

Tower Hamlets | MPS1-MPS6 | Full Academic Year 2026-2027

Daily rate: MPS 3 to MPS 6: £226 - £268 based on experience

SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be supporting one of our highly regarded primary school clients in Tower Hamlets in the recruitment of an exceptional SEND Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year.

This is a rare opportunity to join a thriving and expanding specialist provision that sits within a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school. Now entering its third successful year, the provision has been developed with the invaluable support and expertise of Phoenix School and has become an integral part of the school's commitment to meeting the needs of children with complex SEND.

Due to the continued success of the provision and the increasing needs of pupils, the school is expanding from one class to two classes. As a result, they are seeking a dedicated and skilled SEND.

Teacher to lead one of the cohorts and help shape the next exciting chapter of this provision's development.

The Provision

The provision consists of:

Two classes of 10 pupils each

Two dedicated SEND Teachers

Five experienced and committed Teaching Assistants

A highly cooperative leadership team and wider school staff

One class consists of Year 1 pupils, while the second class includes children from Years 2-5. One pupil currently accesses some mainstream lessons; however, the most of pupils are educated within the provision for the entirety of their school day.

The children are exceptionally well known by staff across the school, and there is a genuine whole-school commitment to ensuring every child succeeds. This is a setting where inclusion is lived rather than simply discussed.

The Opportunity

The successful teacher will:

Lead a class of up to 10 pupils with complex SEND needs

Work alongside an experienced team of Teaching Assistants

Collaborate closely with the second SEND Teacher to develop curriculum, provision, and practice

Build on the strong foundations already established within this highly respected provision

Play a key role in supporting pupils' academic, social, emotional, and communication development

The School

Visitors consistently comment on the warmth, collegiality, and sense of purpose that runs through the school. Staff are incredibly supportive of one another, leaders are approachable, and there is a genuine team ethos.

The vacancy has arisen solely because of the provision's success and expansion-not because of staff turnover. The school recognises that finding the right person is critical and is committed to supporting the successful candidate every step of the way.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a teacher who:

Has experience working with children with SEND, either in a specialist or mainstream setting

Demonstrates patience, creativity, resilience, and high expectations

Is committed to inclusive education and child-centred practice

Thrives as part of a cooperative team

Wants to make a significant difference to the lives of a small group of pupils and their families
