Are you a learning support assistant with experience of working with SEND children? After May half term (or asap after that), a Huddersfield Primary school is looking for a learning support assistant to work 1:1 with a girl in Year 1 with global development delay and epilepsy.
Day to day for this learning support assistant role:
- Supporting with mobility around the school
- First Aid during absence seizures (training where needed) and after care (reassurance, emotional support, calming down techniques)
- Supporting child with learning activities
- Supporting child with communicating effectively
As a learning support assistant you will show strong pastoral and emotional support for your pupil, as well as being vigilant to her cues and needs which will mean able to think on the spot and being flexible with her timetable. The pupil will require some personal care and occasional First Aid.
