Position: Teaching Assistant - SEND Support
Location: Liverpool Primary & SEND Schools
Start Date: Immediate & Full-time opportunities from Summer Term 2026

Aspire People are working in partnership with a number of welcoming and inclusive primary and SEND schools across Liverpool, who are seeking compassionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to join their teams. Opportunities are available on an ad hoc, short-term, and long-term basis immediately, with full-time roles commencing in the final Summer half term and continuing into the next academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for Teaching Assistants who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and who have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.

The role:

* Providing targeted support to pupils with SEND across EYFS, KS1 & KS2 in both mainstream and specialist settings
* Supporting children on a one-to-one basis or in small groups depending on individual needs
* Assisting class teachers and SENDCos in delivering tailored support plans, interventions, and classroom adaptations
* Supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech & language difficulties
* Promoting independence, confidence, and emotional well-being
* Helping pupils access the full curriculum and remain engaged in learning
* Working collaboratively with school staff, parents, and external professionals

What we're looking for:

* Strong behaviour management experience is essential
* Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar SEND support role
* A patient, caring, and empathetic approach
* Confidence supporting children with a range of additional needs
* Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
* Flexible and adaptable approach to working across different school settings
* Excellent communication skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* Ability to provide two professional references
* A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
