SEND Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School - Romford
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND teaching assistant to join our fantastic three form entry mainstream primary school in Romford. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with additional needs in a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.
Our school in Romford is committed to providing outstanding support for all learners and is looking for a motivated SEND teaching assistant who can make a positive impact on the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
This full-time position requires a commitment of 5 days per week, working from 8:30am until 3:30pm, and offers a daily rate of £95-£100 per day, dependent on experience.
The Role
As a SEND teaching assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs within a mainstream classroom setting. Support may be provided on a one-to-one basis or with small groups of pupils.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with SEND to access the curriculum and engage fully in lessons
- Delivering targeted interventions and small group activities to support learning outcomes
- Providing one-to-one support for pupils who require additional guidance and encouragement
- Assisting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Adapting learning resources and activities to meet individual needs
- Supporting pupils with communication, literacy, numeracy, and independence skills
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Promoting an inclusive learning environment where all pupils can succeed
- Contributing to high standards of education and training across the school
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children with SEND in a school setting
- Is patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Is passionate about supporting children and committed to education and training
- Understands the importance of inclusion and pupil wellbeing
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Up-to-date safeguarding training
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
If you do not currently have a DBS on the Update Service or require safeguarding training, our agency can assist by arranging a DBS application and providing free safeguarding training.
