Senior Buyer / Procurement Manager – MEP Contractor

Location: Bristol (covering multiple projects across the South West)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

The Opportunity:

A market-leading MEP Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their established commercial and procurement team based in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering multiple high-profile mechanical and electrical projects across the South West, with project values in excess of £50 million.

You will be responsible for leading procurement strategies across a diverse portfolio of large-scale projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, plant, and subcontract packages while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage procurement of mechanical and electrical materials across multiple projects
• Source and negotiate subcontract packages including specialist M&E services
• Develop and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships
• Secure best value through strategic purchasing and negotiation
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and material availability
• Collaborate closely with commercial, operational, and project delivery teams
• Ensure procurement activities align with project budgets and timelines
• Support risk management and supply chain resilience strategies

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Buyer, Buyer, or Procurement Manager within the M&E / MEP sector
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services procurement
• Experience procuring both materials and subcontract packages
• Background working with MEP contractors or major building services companies
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ideally based within commutable distance to Bristol
