A well-established multidisciplinary Consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to join its growing Sheffield office. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality development infrastructure projects across the residential sector, the business continues to secure a healthy pipeline of work and is now looking for an experienced engineer to play a key role in project delivery and client support.
Based in central Sheffield, this position offers an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded team working on a broad range of residential developments, from small bespoke schemes through to large-scale strategic sites. The Consultancy has built long-standing relationships with national and regional developers and is recognised for providing practical, commercially focused engineering solutions that help unlock complex sites.
You will take responsibility for the design and delivery of infrastructure projects, overseeing highways, drainage, earthworks and external works packages from initial feasibility through to detailed design and construction support. You will be involved in preparing and reviewing technical reports, liaising with clients, local authorities and statutory consultees, and supporting the wider team with project coordination and technical guidance.
A strong understanding of residential development infrastructure is essential, along with experience producing highway and drainage designs and managing the technical approval process. You will have experience working with Section 104, Section 38 and Section 278 agreements and be comfortable taking ownership of projects while maintaining high technical standards and commercial awareness. Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies would be advantageous but is not essential.
Applicants should have a solid background in development infrastructure design and be proficient in industry-standard software including Civil 3D, Site 3D and Flow or MicroDrainage. The role would suit an engineer with a minimum of three to five years' residential infrastructure experience who is looking to take on greater responsibility within a supportive and technically strong environment.
