Overview:
As a Senior Consultant, you’ll be working within the MUFG Corporate Governance team, a part of MUFG Corporate Markets, a division of MUFG Pension & Market Services.  The award winning Corporate Governance team is one of the largest company secretarial providers in the UK and is well-known for its expertise in corporate governance advisory services and company secretarial administration.
As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering company secretarial services to a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring service excellence in line with agreed timescales and internal processes.  You will also act as a key point of contact for technical queries, while proactively contributing to the commercial success of our business.
This role may offer opportunities for client secondments, so a flexible and open approach to this would be important.
The role is based from either our central London office or our city centre office in Leeds on a hybrid basis, so you’ll need to be within a commutable distance to ensure you can be in the office each with your colleagues.

What you need:
As with any role, we want to find the right person and we want to make sure you know it’s the right role for you too.  You will need:
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders and strong client facing and relationship management skills
•    Demonstrable company secretarial experience, or extensive knowledge of UK company law, regulation and best practice
•    Excellent minute taking skills, with extensive experience in drafting accurate and comprehensive minutes
•    An ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing conflicting deadlines
•    Commercial awareness and a desire to work within a professional services environment, with a broad understanding of this model, preferably with experience of working within such an environment
•    Working knowledge of Diligent Entities (formerly ‘Blueprint’) and experience of client relationship management and / or timesheet entry systems
•    An ability to integrate into a dynamic team, working in a collaborate manner and taking a hands-on role whilst supporting colleagues when necessary

It would be nice to have:
•    Experience of working in other jurisdictions
•    A Degree or Masters in Law, Governance, Business or Finance

Day to Day, you will:
•    Work as part of a small team focused on providing a broad spectrum of company secretarial services for individual client entities and large group structures
•    Provide timely and expert advice and support to a varied portfolio of clients, including complex and high profile listed companies
•    Take a proactive approach to establishing and developing relationships with key clients, demonstrating positive behaviours in account development and relationship management 
•    Proactively contribute to operational and / or client related improvement initiatives
•    Approve Customer Due Diligence to ensure compliance with Corporate Governance Anti-Money Laundering Policies and Know Your Client requirements
•    Contribute or lead internal and external technical initiatives, e.g. training sessions, webinars and articles
•    Share technical knowledge with other team members and leading internal knowledge sharing initiatives
•    Actively engage with colleagues within MUFG Corporate Markets, seeking to develop networks and establishing mutually beneficial relationships whilst developing strong client relationships with intermediaries, third parties and key client contacts so to be seen as the first point of contact
•    Accurately draft, prepare and review relevant documentation, provide accurate and timely data and advise and support junior colleagues
