A reputable housing provider in South London is seeking an experienced Senior Neighbourhood Officer to join their housing operations team on a temp-to-perm basis.

Location: South London
Rate: £28.50 - £30.00 per hour Umbrella / £22.00-23.50 PAYE (depending on experience)
Contract: Temp to Perm
Working Pattern: 35 hours per week | 4 days office based | 1 day WFH by agreement
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
DBS: Clear DBS required

The ideal housing professional will be managing under 500 properties across multiple sites throughout South London. This opportunity would suit a highly capable housing professional with strong all-round tenancy and neighbourhood management experience, particularly within smaller Housing Associations/Local Authority or community-focused providers.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can confidently manage a varied patch, take ownership of complex cases and support junior staff whilst delivering an excellent resident-focused service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a full housing management caseload
  • Leading on Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), neighbour disputes and tenancy breaches
  • Managing rent arrears and income recovery cases
  • Overseeing void management processes and tenancy sign-ups
  • Supervising and supporting a junior staff
  • Conducting tenancy audits, estate inspections and compliance checks
  • Initiating legal action where required
  • Liaising with maintenance teams regarding communal and property issues
  • Supporting tenant engagement and community initiatives
  • Producing performance and arrears reports for senior management
Essential Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within social housing
  • Strong end-to-end housing management experience
  • Proven background managing:
    • ASB cases
    • Rent arrears
    • Void management
    • Tenancy audits
  • Experience supervising or mentoring staff
  • Up-to-date knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy management practice
  • Experience working within a smaller Housing Association environment would be highly advantageous
  • Strong IT skills and experience using housing management systems
Desirable
  • Level 3 Housing qualification or willingness to work towards
  • CIH membership
  • Income maximisation experience
You will be an organised, resilient and customer-focused housing professional capable of managing complex tenancy issues independently whilst contributing positively within a small collaborative team environment.
The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing tenancy sustainment, enforcement, resident engagement and operational performance across a busy neighbourhood patch.
