This is a key appointment for someone who can hit the ground running, bringing strong hands-on manufacturing engineering expertise alongside proven NPI leadership. You’ll play a pivotal role in introducing new aerospace components into production while driving continuous improvement across existing manufacturing processes.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in CNC milling and turning, who understands machining at a technical level and can apply that knowledge to improve manufacturability, optimise processes, and support successful product launches. You will lead and manage the full New Product Introduction (NPI) process from quotation through to production approval, using APQP methodologies to identify and mitigate risks throughout the development lifecycle.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer & NPI Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full NPI process from RFQ through to production launch and approval, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to customer requirements
- Apply APQP and risk management methodologies (including FMEA) to identify and mitigate manufacturing and supply chain risks
- Develop, optimise and improve manufacturing processes for precision aerospace components, driving efficiency, quality, and cost improvements
- Collaborate with CNC programmers, production teams, and suppliers to refine machining strategies and improve manufacturability
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including routings, process maps, work instructions, and process controls
- Support technical problem-solving and continuous improvement, including engineering changes, non-conformance investigations, and root cause analysis

Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
- Strong background in CNC machining, particularly milling and turning
- Excellent understanding of machining processes, tooling, materials and production methods
- Proven experience managing New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Strong working knowledge of APQP and FMEA
- Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems
- Process optimisation and continuous improvement experience
- ERP/MRP system knowledge
