Senior Mechanical Engineer

Hexwired Recruitment are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a growing consultancy working across consumer products, transport, and safety-critical medical device projects.

This is a senior technical role within multi-disciplinary teams, collaborating with electronics, software, and design specialists to deliver high-quality, market-ready products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design work across full product development lifecycle (concept → production)
• Deliver innovative solutions to complex engineering problems
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (electronics, software, industrial design)
• Support and review junior engineers’ work
• Manage project delivery including timelines, budgets, and client communication
• Present technical solutions to clients and stakeholders
• Ensure manufacturability and design quality across projects

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (1st or 2:1) or equivalent technical qualification
• Strong experience in product design / mechanical development environment
• Skilled in CAE tools and computational engineering methods
• Experience with a range of manufacturing processes (including injection moulding and prototyping)
• Strong track record of delivering complex engineering projects
• Experience working with clients and managing project expectations
• Good communication and leadership capability
• Eligible to work in the UK and able to work on-site in Warwick

• Low-volume rapid prototyping
• High-volume manufacturing processes
• Medical, transport, or consumer product sectors
• Experience mentoring or leading engineers
